Vanderbilt Theatre (1918-1954)
Eugene De Rosa, achitect. Producer Lyle Andrews built it to house his own productions but lost theatre during the Depression. From 1939 to 1952, it was used as a radio studio (NBC then ABC). Irving Maidman bought the theatre and reopened it as a legit venue, but it only lasted a year before being razed to build a parking facility designed by reknowned theatre designer Herbert J. Krapp. The theater was located at 148 W. 48th Street, New York, NY and had a capacity of 780.
